Hi, I’m Sara, the heart and hands behind Formal Invites.
At the end of every year, I celebrate my business anniversary, and this year marks 11 years. What started as a love for paper, design, and meaningful details has grown into a full-service luxury stationery and event signage brand serving couples throughout San Diego and beyond. While Southern California is home, I’m grateful to work with clients in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Orange County, and Detroit, Michigan.
Every piece I create is thoughtfully designed with intention and elegance, guided by one simple belief: the smallest details make the biggest impact. I love setting trends, always asking what’s next?, and ensuring every design feels fresh, elevated, and purposeful.
What some clients may not know is that I’m also a bedside nurse (part-time these days). That role has shaped my patience, precision, and deep commitment to people—qualities that carry directly into every Formal Invites experience. From our first conversation to the final setup, my goal is simple: to make you feel supported, heard, and completely confident in every detail.
Fun fact: I started Formal Invites during my first year of nursing school. Eleven years later, I’m grateful to enjoy the best of both worlds—continuing to nurse part-time while fully pouring my heart into Formal Invites.

I’m also a proud mom of three sweet little girls, a role I value more than anything. They keep me busy, grounded, and constantly remind me why meaningful moments matter so much. No matter how full life gets, I always show up for my clients and ensure everything is done with care and on time.
I specialize in custom wedding invitations, seating charts, day-of signage, napkins, menus, and cohesive paper moments that flow seamlessly from start to finish. My clients don’t just receive stationery—they receive a curated experience, tailored to their story, their style, and their vision. Over the years, I’ve also had the privilege of working closely with incredible planners who continue to trust my work.
Formal Invites is built on trust, consistency, and exceptional service. I pride myself on showing up, going the extra mile, and treating every event as if it were my own.
As I entered my 10-year milestone and moved into 2025, I became even more intentional about growth and innovation—launching my website, developing a custom RSVP database to simplify guest responses, and creating a QR-based photo album experience to capture memories in a modern, meaningful way.
